Salsa @ Union Square

That’s the reason why I chose to get into dancing. heh … Jolin asked me last night, but i didn’t give a proper answer coz i was speaking well today (lost voice!!).

         Last night, not only did many guys continuously jio Jolin to dance, and some jio-ed sok eng, some one jio-ed me to dance too!!! hahaha … it’s a lady in red some more! cool stuff! hahaah … no lah … it was Jolin’s friend. Jolin asked me to dance with her to practise more mah … haha. Not bad. Fun. But I felt paiseh that I was not so good and that I don’t have enough stunts to make it fun for her. That was the first time I danced with some high level girl whom I don’t know hahaa … June was someone I already knew mah … my instructor mah … hm …

         So anyway girls who go there always get a lot of practice and learn a lot there coz the guys will introduce them a lot of new stunts. Not so much for guys liao … haha. I also realize why many of my frens who started with 1 dance went on to learn many others. Because once you get to the dance floor, you’ll be attracted by the other dances as well. I’m very attracted to learn Rueda if anything. Very fun & happy group dance. And in any case, I realized that many dances (latin dances i think) have similar hand moves. Only their basic steps differ. So I managed to pick a bit of bachata (the slow, intimate shaking butt dance) basic steps by looking. also, Reggae should be the 2nd dance on the To-learn list. (It’s the one with basic steps like penguin walking. step on left then right on the spot & keep alternating, shaking you legs and whole body in the direction of the steps, i.e. downwards. hahaa) It’s a very fast paced one, even faster than salsa, therefore very exciting!! haha … it involves both partners in close hold and both spinning with fast tempo portions of the music … hahaha … damn fun too. i also picked up a bit of the penguin walk just in last night. alright, JJ Salsa Beginner Class of Jun - Jul’07, keep the spirits!

P.S. Jolin is the one who reminds me of triceps … hahahaa.

Picked up a Godfather from Queensway …

I didn’t know that, apart from being a auntie killer, a gay magnet, i’m also a godfather picker!!! hahah

       I was at Queensway shopping for some things for my orientation camps. I came to this shop selling broad shorts and was looking thru’ the designs when the shop owner identified me. So then that attracted the attention of this Uncle Sim and his friend. They started talking to me and started asking where I live and then uncle Sim asked whether I wanted to be his God Son. I mean I didn’t really take it really that seriously at that time. Then after that he said that he was also coming down to Bukit Batok and so he wanted to send me home. I told him that I haven’t really found what I wanted in that shop and so I wanted to go to other shops to look at more choices but he said it was alright and that he could come along with me to shop first then send me home. (This is beginning to sound like Crime Watch hahaha )

       I didn’t find anything I liked in this final shop I found selling broad shorts and so I told Uncle Sim that I just need to get an arm pouch and we could go off. I was already quite serious in accepting his lift but I had really intended to get the pouch before I went off! I wasn’t trying to stall time or shake them off!! When I was buying the pouch, Uncle Sim dished out notes to pay for it!!! I was like, "?!?!?!!" I told him that I should pay him pack and that he shouldn’t be buying that for me for no reason. So I tried to stuff the money into his shirt pocket but he pushed it away, causing the money to drop on the ground. Ok … I thot maybe I shouldn’t try anymore. At that point, I could see he was a generous man.

       Then came the car-boarding part. It turned out to be a black BMW!! Before I boarded the car, I noted the car plate no. SDN 3338 and sent it to my friend Lionel & SMSed him what was happening. That’s me, I always play safe in things, yet take calculated risks. Then Uncle Sim asked whether I wanted to go have some hokkien mee. I said I was alright with anything as long as it wasn’t spicy, fried or oily coz I was having a sore throat and lost my voice. So then we went to the newly renovated Old Airport Road Food Centre to have the famous, queue-attracting hokkien mee. Along the way, Uncle Sim talked about his other God Sons, how 1 is going to start year 4 in Electrical Engrg in NTU this year, how he is going to borrow his car and how he is going with his braces. (I have no idea how many God Sons he has and who is who haha)

       So anyway then he told me he was sincere in wanting me to be his God Son. He said he’d contact me 3 weeks later after my orientation camps (coz I told him I’ll be busy thru’out) just before I alighted at my house.

       Haha … It must be like "Wow!" to you all right? hahaa … a bit lah … But given that I’m one who like to try new things and that I don’t like to disappoint people, I may go on with it lah … But I’m also one who doesn’t like to commit esp when I don’t feel for that thing whole-heartedly. So I’ll take it a step at a time and see what being a God Son entails .. haahah … In any case, this has added to my life’s special experience and fun life story!! Looking out for more of these kinds of encounter with people and these stories to mould.

       1 thing still puzzles me. I attract all sorts of people, aunties, uncles, gays, why izzit that I don’t attract any young girl at all? haaha … doesn’t really matter anyway … i’m not available …
